“One of the Marines accused of urinating on the body of a dead Taliban fighter will face court-martial Wednesday in North Carolina. Staff Sgt. Edward W. Deptola is charged with several violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice for the incident, including being derelict in his duties by failing to properly supervise junior Marines, failing to report the negligent discharge of a grenade launcher and wrongfully and indiscriminately firing a recovered enemy machine gun, according to a Marine Corps news release…”

“MARINE CORPS SUPPORT FACILITY NEW ORLEANS — Beginning Jan. 4, 2013, all non-deployed Marines and sailors assigned to Marine units, regardless of component, active or Reserve, will be required to wear the appropriate seasonal service uniform each Friday.

“Unlike the utility uniform, the service uniforms are form fitting, and this characteristic provides leaders with an opportunity to frequently evaluate the personal appearance of their Marines without inducing a work stoppage,” said Sgt.
