Jailed Marine’s Mother Hires ‘Rock Star’ Attorney

The mother of Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi,jailed in Mexico since March 31, has hired a “rock star” defense attorney for her son – his third lawyer in as many weeks.

Jill Tahmooressi, said Wednesday that following the advice of California defense attorney Phil Dunn, she has hired Mexican attorney Fernando Benitez Alvarez del Castillo.

“I’m comfortable that I now have a competent attorney to represent Andrew,” Tahmooressi told Foxnews.com…”

Marine Receives Navy Cross Posthumously

Carpenter Awarded Medal of Honor at White House

Retired Marine Cpl. William “Kyle” Carpenter became the 11th U.S. service member from the war in Afghanistan to earn the Medal of Honor on Thursday when President Barack Obama draped the nation’s highest award for combat valor around his neck.

Carpenter, only 19 when he used his own body to shield another Marine from a grenade in 2010, lived through the blast and injuries and surgeries against tremendous odds.

“His injuries were called catastrophic. It seemed as though he was going to die,” Obama said in the East Room of the White House. “While being treated he went into cardiac arrest. Three times he flatlined. Three times doctors brought him back.”..”

Medal of Honor Ceremony From White House

Corporal Carpenter received the Medal of Honor for his courageous actions while serving as an Automatic Rifleman with Company F, 2d Battalion, 9th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 1, 1st Marine Division (Forward), I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
